Violence Against
Women On Campus Task Force |
||
IMPLEMENTATION PHASE |
||
The Violence Against Women On
Campus Task Force at Florida International University is comprised of key
university and community leaders committed to increasing safety by
reducing violence on campuses everywhere. Our task is
to address the specific problems of stalking,
dating/domestic violence, and sexual offenses. We are
dedicated to developing and implementing policy and procedures for a coordinated campus
community response to violence against women1.
1The problems addressed by the Task Force are forms of violence traditionally perpetrated against women. Funds were provided by the US Dept. of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office on Violence Against Women to prevent and respond to these forms of violence on campuses (Authorized by Higher Education Amendments of 1998 and reauthorized under the Violence Against Women Act of 2000). However, the policies and protocol developed will benefit all victims. |
